Centro Cultural de Loures

This project it was an approach from  the City Hall of Loures , a city nearby Lisbon, that  promote to filling an urban void, in a central city block and projecting a Cultural Center.  The  main objective is to explore and design a program which is able to connect  the population from Loures and space that intends to remind the heritage from that region, and the people who still live there, but also   attract  people from surrounding  cities.  Not only filling the void, the intervention regards the surrounding the houses with two floors most of the times and also maintains the possibility of its crossing through several pedestrian walks that transform the Cultural Center of Loures in a space in constant dialogue with the city - center and river. The indoor and outdoor spaces should be able to dynamize meetings between the population, should be age inclusive space and present diversity of events for day or  night.  The performing  arts  taking place in the new cultural center, such as the dance, theater or music, should gain prominence in the public space and in the daily life of the inhabitants of Loures. For this reason, spaces designed should be multipurpose and constitute scenarios for the most varied performances.
